The polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) cutter is compact of a polycrystalline diamond layer and a tungsten carbide substrate. The polycrystalline diamond layer possesses extremely high hardness and abrasion resistance, whereas the tungsten carbide substrate would greatly improve the toughness and weldability of the whole compact.

The features of PDC cutters:
(1)long life-Employing new sinter techniques firms the bonding of diamond particles. The abrasion resistance has a vast increase, with 2-3mm of the diamond layer, this assure the diamond compact cutter has a longer life.
(2)Higher impact resistance-The beveled interface of diamond layer and tungsten carbide, reduces residual stress of PDC diamond compact cutter, and increase impact resistance.
